A WORD FROM HENRY

This month Ariande discusses more bad blackjack plays that he has seen as a blackjack dealer while our contributing writer KC Brooks shares some of his experiences as a blackjack and poker dealer. We also have a detailed report on the Excalibur and NY NY casinos located in Las Vegas (by Stu D. Hoss), and a trip report to the Kansas City casinos (by JPB). If you are a card counter who makes "cover plays", you better know which ones cost you a lot of money and which ones cost very little (read Nicholas Colon's article for the details). If you don't already know this, the blackjack rules in the Pennsylvania casinos are very player-friendly, and in this issue, you'll find a comprehensive guide to all the casinos located in Pennsylvania by Mark Gruetze. Two BJI contributing writers attended the recent Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas; John Grochowski focuses on new blackjack games that he saw being touted by developers while Paul Wilson focuses on the legalization of sports betting and interactive and skill-based gaming, both hot topics at G2E. Lastly, Jerry "Stickman" summarizes the playing strategy differences between a 9/6 vs. 8/5 Jacks or Better game (with and without a progressive meter), and between 10/7/5 vs. 9/7/5 Double Bonus. (If you need a strategy table for these games, it's in Jerry's article.)

Have a Happy Thanksgiving,

Henry Tamburin

A GUIDE TO PENNSYLVANIA CASINOS by Mark Gruetze
