LAS VEGAS BLACKJACK REPORT:
GO WEST YOUNG MAN BUT DONíT GO NORTH
By LV Tournament Pro
LV Tournament Pro is the pseudonym of a skilled advantage blackjack player and an experienced tournament player who has won over $400,000 playing blackjack tournaments. He recently finished first in a monthly qualifier in the Las Vegas Hilton Million Dollar Blackjack tournament and he will be competing in the Finals in May for a shot at a million bucks. He also recently competed in the World Series of Blackjack 2005 at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas (show airs on GSN). His peers consider him to be one of the strongest blackjack tournament players in Las Vegas.
Back in the late 1980ís and early 1990ís, long before the days of 6/5 blackjack, I was going to Las Vegas once or twice a year. Back then I wasnít counting, I was just a typical recreational, good basic strategy player. But one thing I did notice and remember is that no matter where you went all the blackjack games had the same rules and pretty much the same amount of cards dealt (i.e., penetration).
Now letís fast forward to the new millennium. Nowadays the conditions of a game could change from one pit to another in the same casino. The casinos rely on the customer not paying attention to details and as a matter of fact, the dumber they think you are the better they will treat you. So just act like a sucker and half the battle is over .The other half of the battle is finding a decent game. Finding a decent game on the North end of the strip is not an easy task as you will soon read. In fact you will see that conditions at one casino will be drastically different from another, even though they are owned and operated by the same corporation.
