Note: This is a continuing series on casino cheating by Vinny DeCarlo, who worked in casino surveillance for many years.

This is another true story that occurred at a defunct Strip casino that was run with the finesse of an organ grinder. What’s funny is that the scam went down flawlessly but was still caught. (How will amaze you.)

It was the early 80’s; this casino was known for handling large "paper" wagers (i.e., stacks of cash). It was common to see $50,000 in cash go back and forth across the table for six to eight hours. Back then, you could request a semi-private game where the table and player are shrouded by a curtain. A surveillance camera watches the action from above and a single floor person would pace around the table, supervising the game. (Note: Most private-type baccarat games were played by Asian players in a very superstitious way and didn’t care much for other players horning in on their game.)

It was about 9pm and the den (i.e., baccarat pit) was empty except for the dealers. Suddenly and unexpectedly, six knockout women walked in dressed in what can only be called, uhm….a rubber ban. Anyway, there was very little left to the imagination once they took off their fur coats and sat down to play.

The girls picked their betting sides (i.e., Bank or Player hand) and out came the paper (cash) and there was loads of it. It wasn’t unusual to see $25,000 thrown on the Bank side by them, in fact, that was enough cash to put the club in the red in just a few hours of play. But man, the boobs…they were everywhere and if that wasn’t enough, the girls were getting frisky and kissing each other and touching…well, you get the picture. The floor supervisor was way into it to the point that he had only one thing on his mind. Apparently, surveillance was thinking along the same lines, as the camera’s eye was full of boobs.

Surely, the General Manager would understand after seeing some the video of what could be called the best baccarat game ever. In fact, this was by far one of my favorite video tapes and a pleasure to show at parties for a laugh, as most people had no idea what surveillance agents did up there in those dark rooms. Well, here was their chance for me to show them.

I remember one such party where my wife was actually watching the "girls in action playing baccarat" tape (a first for her). She was impressed with...
