According to Vinny, there are two types of casino employees - those that know him, and those that claim to know him; therefore, never believe what you hear.
Note: The following true story occurred in 1980s in a downtown casino in Sin City. I was a roulette dealer at the time.
I remember working at one of those famous, downtown break-in clubs (circa 1984-86) when the Pit Boss unleashed this new, little guy on us (the little sh*t was so intense and intent on helping everyone in the pit). On this particular night, the Pit Bull put him on my back while I was driving (working) the roulette (wheel) game. The little turd was suppose to help me muck the roulette chips and cheques because my table was booked solid with players, from the shield to the inside hook.
Now I usually don’t need any help running the game, and surely not that night, but like the cartoon where the little hyper dog keeps jumping over the rather large bulldog, this pipsqueak was annoying the Pit Boss so he unleashed him on guess whom ... me.
Though not stupid, this kid was new and had some bad habits that he learned from a dealing school that just turned him out. However, one thing that he did was new to me. He would constantly raise his right arm, as if someone had pulled a gun on him, then bend it at the elbow and touch the middle of his back. Strange.
Now people tend to dislike other people that annoy them, and usually discount almost everything they do as being a pest. Well, I found myself in that same mode, but as luck would have it, the roulette table I was working at was across from the bar (and where there’s a bar, there’s mirrors ... same with the bedroom of my ex wife after she left me). Anyway, with the good Lords guidance, I caught a glimpse of the black and silver mirrors swoosh to this pipsqueak’s back...
