TUNICA TRIP REPORT

Riverboat Flyer is a low-stakes blackjack player. He plays the southern Ohio riverboats along with frequent trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Tunica, and occasionally Lake Tahoe. He has been counting cards for over ten years, using the Hi-Op, High Low and currently the half-count system.
Editorís Note: I recommend at least a 1 to 8-10 aggressive betting spread for card counters playing a six-deck game in order to get a healthy advantage. Some low-stakes counters, including Riverboat Flyer, prefer a more conservative betting spread. This decreases the bankroll swings but at the expense of a lower edge over the house.

I visited the Tunica casinos in June for a summer getaway. Hereís how it went.
Stop one was the Gold Strike, one of my favorite casinos in Tunica. After driving all day, I sat down at a $5, six-deck shoe game and played for an hour, spreading $5 to $15. One bad shoe hit me hard and after an hour, I was down $68. After dinner, I tried a $10 six-deck game and hit a hot streak. I was holding my own when a relief dealer tapped in. She dealt at machine-gun speed, and I almost got up to take a break until the regular dealer returned. I won the first three or four hands and decided to stick it out. For the next two hours, I could do no wrong. I won my double downs. Seventeenís and eighteens wound up winners. Playing heads up, I hit a high count and cleaned up. I bought in for $300 and cashed out $712. The trip was off to a good start.
