A recent discussion on the forums at BlackjackTournaments.com involved a particular hand that I think is worth examining closely. The situation at first appears a little confusing, at least until you think about it in the right way. Then the appropriate play seems clear. Fortunately, once you know what to look for, playing well in these situations becomes almost automatic. On to the details...

The scenario involves the final hand of a round where only one player will advance. Betting limits are $5 to $300, and no surrender is allowed. The bets have already been placed and the cards have been dealt.
