Reviews of the book:

"I have met many of the blackjack legends featured in this book and I've been personal friends with some of them; yet, I still discovered new and fascinating details about their rise to fame that I didn't know about prior to reading this book... you will love reading this book."

Jean Scott, "Queen of Comps" and author of many popular gambling guides, including the Frugal Video Poker series.

"Legends of Blackjack is a fascinating and entertaining new e-book by Kevin Blackwood and Larry Barker. The 20 chapters not only read like a Who's Who of Blackjack, but furnish anecdotes that were both new and refreshing, even about people whom I have known for a long time. A great read. I highly recommend it."

Don Schlesinger, author of Blackjack Attack: Playing the Pros' Way, 3rd edition "I got an advance review copy, and found this book to be an excellent read. That's not surprising given the excellent team of co-authors, Kevin Blackwood and Larry Barker. I was familiar with some of the people profiled in the book, but in every case I learned something new about them. In a few cases, I recognized the name and remembered meeting someone, but didn't know the story behind the name until reading it here. In one case, I read almost an entire chapter before realizing the subject was a very friendly fellow that I sat next to at a Blackjack Ball a few years back! This book is highly recommended. At $9.99 you can't go wrong." Kenneth Smith, host of www.blackjacktournaments.com and www.blackjackinfo.com.

"Legends of Blackjack" is more than just a series of highly detailed, fun and informative biographies of blackjack's icons and Heros. Blackwood and Barker also share their affection, admiration and respect for each of the creative geniusus they profile. In the best possible sense, every chapter is too short."

Eliot Jacobson, Ph.D.

"In Legends of Blackjack, Larry Barker and Kevin Blackwood managed to get some of the top players to come out of the shadows and share their stories. Finally there is a book that does justice to the brilliance of these remarkable individuals.

Rick Blaine, author of Blackjack Blueprint - How to Play Like a Pro ... Part-Time." "If you love to read, as I do, about players who are very successful at making money gambling in a casino, you will love reading LOB. I find inspiration in such stories, and especially enjoy reading how their early life and non-gambling activities show the kind of personality and skills needed in their gambling craft. I have met many of the blackjack experts featured in this book and been personal friends with some of them, yet, I still found out new and fascinating details about their rise to fame that I didn't know about. I predict that once you start reading this book, you will have a hard time stopping until you get to the last page." Jean $˘ott, Frugal Gambler "I thoroughly enjoyed reading Legends of Blackjack. The stories of how the legends beat the casinos at blackjack here and abroad were fascinating. I highly recommend this book." Frank Scoblete, America's #1 Best-Selling Gambling Author.

About the Authors:

By nearly all standards, Kevin Blackwood has led a very intriguing life. Over the last two decades he's been one of the most successful card counters in the world. This unusual and fascinating vocation has provided him with numerous hair-raising stories to share with friends and inspired him to write several books about gambling.

Similarly, Larry Barker also has an unusual background. The youngest Ph.D. in his field at age 23, and later the youngest full professor at 29, Larry has taught hundreds of students and professionals the "ins and outs" of statistics and probability theory. Both Kevin and Larry have been featured in televised blackjack tournaments, and they have successfully beaten the casinos at their own game.

Explanatory Sidebars:

Not sure what a blackjack player means when they say "off the top," or if "big player" refers to packing those extra pounds?! Sprinkled throughout the book in yellow side bars are explanations of the blackjack terms and concepts that are mentioned throughout the stories of these legendary players' exploits.
